Lake Como has always been known as a dreamlike holiday resort thanks to its mild climate and the stunning beauty of its coastal towns clustered on the Pre-Alps: in the previous centuries only noble families and Italian and European men of letters used to spend their holidays in the luxurious mansions leaned over the lake. Today, this area has become an international tourist destination.

Thanks to its strategic position, at close range to Milan and Brianza, and perfectly connected with railway, Lake Como offers bewitching landscapes: small towns placed on wooded slopes which alternate with the famous mansions surrounded by thriving gardens, not to be missed throughout the bloom period in Spring with their several plant species from all over the world.

There are many mansions over the lake: Villa Olmo, Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Villa Monastero, Villa Cipressi in Varenna, or even Villa Serbelloni or Villa Melzi in Bellagio or the famous Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, Villa Balbianello in Lenno; some of them are open to visitors while others are only visible from the outside.
